This 30 minute Loaded Potato Naan Pizza recipe has it all: Creamy garlic herb spread & plenty of potatoes, plus cheddar, bacon bits, & green onions. It’s a loaded potato; it’s a pizza; it’s the best of both worlds!
Hey look: It’s a Loaded Potato Naan Pizza! How could this be bad, right? High School Guy will attest to all of the deliciousness going on here: He demolished his own personal pizza in record time, then immediately called dibs on a second to bring to school for lunch.
You can blame the inspiration for this particular easy weeknight dinner on Facebook ads. You know how sometimes their algorithms get a little off, so they show you an ad for someplace that’s nowhere near your actual geographic location? Well, I recently saw a FB ad for a loaded baked potato pizza… at a restaurant in another state. While this was initially somewhat disappointing, I soon realized that I had all of the ingredients on hand to kludge together some loaded potato pizza of my own.
These impulse pizzas turned out great. The only thing I might do differently next time is to add just a touch of seasoned salt to punch things up a little (and, if you have regular bacon, you could cook up and crumble on some of that rather than using the bacon bits). Either way, though, these have all the taste you’d want in a loaded baked potato — but, in a pizza!
Loaded Potato Naan Pizza
Ingredients
3 medium yellow potatoes, cooked and thinly sliced
4 pieces of pre-made naan bread
6.5 oz garlic & herb cheese spread
8 oz (2 cups) shredded cheddar cheese
2.5 oz real bacon bits
3 green onions, chopped
Directions
Clean and pierce the potatoes, then microwave until fork tender, about 7-8 minutes. Let them cool just enough that you can slice them thinly. (Alternatively, you could boil the potatoes until fork tender if you prefer.)
Meanwhile, place the naan bread bubbly side up on two rimmed baking sheets and preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Shred the cheddar, if not using pre-shredded.
Spread each slice of naan with garlic & herb cheese spread, leaving a bit of room at the edges, then sprinkle on half of the cheddar cheese.
Top each naan pizza with cooked potato slices, then sprinkle on the rest of the shredded cheddar and the bacon bits.
Bake your loaded potato pizzas at 425 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until nicely browned, switching oven racks halfway through.
While the pizza is baking, chop the green onion.
Top the finished pizzas with chopped green onion, and serve!
Note: If you don’t have garlic herb cheese spread on hand, the original pizza I saw in the ad actually sported a seasoned sour cream sauce. You could probably mix sour cream with a little garlic powder, parsley, & Italian seasoning for a similar taste (yet slightly different consistency).
The best of both worlds
I mean, making two of my favorite things into one tasty dish? How could this go wrong: Loaded potato pizza truly combines the best of both worlds. The salty bacon complements the creamy potatoes and garlic herb cheese, while the chewy naan crust sets everything off perfectly. I’ll definitely be making these super easy potato pizzas again.
Just 30 minutes start to finish plus a few simple ingredients, and you, too, can have loaded potato naan pizza on your own table tonight!
