New! *** Add this week’s grocery list to your Instacart. ***

IMPORTANT! READ BEFORE CHECKING OUT:

  1. You’ll need to check your pantry for staples not included in this Instacart list. See needed pantry staples below.
  2. The list creation feature doesn’t currently allow multiple quantities or changing the weight of items. Before adding the list to your cart you’ll want to change the following:
    1. Change the tortellini quantity to 2
    2. Change the great northern beans quantity to 2
    3. Change the baby carrots quantity to 2
    4. Change the weight of the grapes to 2 lbs; add a note you want 2 lbs of broccoli
    5. Add a note to your shopper that you’d like 2.5 lbs of the pork chops and a 4 lb pack of the chicken
  3. Click “add” on any items you want to place in your cart; omit any items you don’t want or already have.
  4. Add anything else you need for the week to your cart, and check out!

Add your list to Instacart is a newer feature I’m testing out, so please use at your own risk and always double check your cart against the recipes. It’s a work in progress! Note: Instacart prices are higher than in store, so your total will be higher than shown in the above grocery list.

** Pantry staples to check for before shopping: Olive oil, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, chili powder, sea salt, Kosher salt, black pepper, seasoned salt, smoked paprika, paprika, Italian seasoning, oregano, sage, crushed red pepper, garlic powder, garlic salt, thyme

Things to know about these meal plans

A couple of notes

  1. I try not to repeat main dish recipes more often than once a month, but you will see favorite easy recipes again in these weekly ALDI meal plans as the same meats and produce items come up again on sale. Part of the fun of meal planning lies in mixing old stand-bys with something new each week.
  2. If one or more of these recipes isn’t to your taste, or if you have other ingredients to use up, adapt the recipes in this ALDI meal plan to your family’s preferences. Or, just use the ideas here to supplement your own meal planning! See: Pantry staples to stock up on and how to modify a meal plan for your family.

** ad markets & dates

This week’s ALDI meal plan reflects prices from the current week’s ad (running 9/25-10/1 in Sunday ad markets, and 9/28-10/4 in Wednesday ad markets). Non-advertised prices are from my local store in the Chicago suburbs. Prices and produce deals *can vary* by location & region. In either ad market, shop any time through Saturday and start cooking on Sunday 10/2/22.

Yup! Cut it on up — I used deli slices originally but the budget didn’t allow this week, so we are slicing it ourselves. 🙂

GERMAN CHERRY ALMOND TART- in the chest freezer section. Now that our favorite ice cream treat (plant based forest chocolate raspberry bar on a stick) is no longer available, I've been looking for a new sweet treat. I stumbled across this small round German Cherry Almond Tart in the chest freezer section. Sadly, I tossed out the box and don't have the exact name. There is also an APPLE variation. I heated it up on a pie plate. We got 4 servings from it. Looks elegant and tastes delicious! The cost is around $4.

Fun time at Aldi with my husband. I print the Aldi meal plan on 2 pieces of paper ( not double sided). Having circled the needed items, I give my husband one page and I take the other. We get two shopping carts and go after the items on the list. We are in an out of Aldi in a flash - speed shopping. LOL.

What does it cost for the rest of the week? Your meal plans are dinners only, what do you serve for breakfast and lunch?
