eShakti customized dresses — a review + coupon code

I received a customized dress from eShakti for purposes of review; all opinions in this post, however, are my own.

I’ve written before about eShakti and the coolness that they will customize dresses for a reasonable fee. They recently sent over a customized dress for review, so let me tell you about them a little more in depth (and yes, I’ll get off the black and white kick now…!). This particular dress seems no longer to be available on their site, since their inventory changes often, but you have a lot of other options. While I do like this dress and its fit, next time I’d definitely choose something with more color and pattern, because it’s a bit too plain as-is. When it’s cooler out, I might add a cardigan for a pop of color.

For an additional $7.50 over the price of the dress, eShatki will customize any dress on their site to your height, weight, waist size, bust size, and more. Just give them all your measurements (I was able to do all mine myself fairly easily except across my back shoulders, where I needed the help of MashupDad), and they will make the dress to your size. It’s super hard for me to find dresses that fit, especially in a non-stretchy material like this poplin, so this is a huge deal for those of us who aren’t necessarily standard off-the-rack sizes. This customized dress was shipped to my house from India in less than three weeks from my sending in my measurements, so not super quick, but not too bad at all considering it’s customized to my size!

eShakti dresses also have hidden pockets in the seams — although I wouldn’t necessarily recommend showing them off quite this way, because it’s not a good look for anyone, lol… And, beyond customizing the dresses to your measurements, they’ll also customize sleeve length, skirt length, and neckline on most as part of that same flat $7.50 charge. The dress I’m wearing was pictured as sleeveless on their site, and I added short sleeves because I’m more comfortable that way.
