Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: The Napping House Edition

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: The Napping House Edition. (AKA, they’re cute when they’re sleeping edition…) Do you all remember this sweet The Napping House book? It makes me think back to when my gangly teenage boys were the little baby boys… aww. Now I just have to make do with Notorious Bad Kitty Lucy and friends, because they never really grow up.

Anyway, “the napping house” just about sums up what we have going on around here in these, the cat days of summer. Sunbeams, they are irresistible.

In between naps, though, there’s always just enough time to be bad. Or, maybe it’s all the napping that fuels the trouble? It’s pretty hard to tell at this point.

And yes, since we last visited the Three Bad Kitties on last month’s Caturday, we’re still under construction around here — and they’re still supervising, especially the Notorious BKL. Yes, she’s the one who put her paw print right into the wet cement.

Hopefully the water issues have been resolved for now; we’ll see once we have a crazy rainy-all-day-day again. Next week, the floor gets put back in and then I can put back all the many, many things I had to pull out of that room and its associated closet-under-the-stairs storage and start to get back to (what passes for) normal around here.

So, how’s your Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?

School’s starting in a few days here already, so last weekend I took the boys on a last-minute trip to a Wisconsin water park — with the obligatory stop at Mars Cheese Castle. (Yes, I did buy cheese curds, and yes, I’m going to be comparing them soon to the ones I found at ALDI recently.) How are you spending the end of your summer?
