Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Is this Safe? Edition. I know, I’ve mentioned more than once how cats are kind of like toddlers in their casual disregard for their own safety, but: Really now. Does this seem like a good idea? I know to watch for the Notorious Bad Kitty Lucy’s tendency to jump into the dryer if I open it to check if things are fully dry, since she likes to curl up on the warm clothes. The washing machine, however, is a new one.
Then again, the Notorious Bad Kitty Gnocchi appears to want to skip the middleman and walk into the light… or at least slip through some kind of portal to another dimension. Both of them are quite pleased about the gradual shift into warmer temperatures and additional sunshine around here, though! We made it through another winter. 🙂
Never fear, however: Middle School Guy is not about to let BKG go without a fight. BKG is his cat: She sleeps on his pillow (often shoving him off entirely — I don’t know how such a small cat manages to take up so much room), comes when he calls, and generally just shadows her boy most of the time.
This means that she spent a lot of time over spring break hanging out with Middle School Guy and me while we played endless games of Monopoly — he’s been on a kick lately. This is all well and good until she takes it into her head to run away batting houses and hotels across the room, or that the middle of the board is a fantastic place to nap. Because: Cats are like toddlers, remember?
And as for BKL? She just can’t figure out why this kitty won’t play with her…
So, how’s your Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?
What have you been up to this week? Ours was pretty much spent settling back into the school week after break, and realizing that summer vacation isn’t so far away! Yikes.
And since that’s us for now, I’ll leave you with the usual question: How’s your own Caturweek (or cat-free week) going? And.. be sure to tune in next time for the latest installment in the exciting ongoing Caturday adventures of the Notorious BKL and Friends!

Thanks again for sharing. Your cats look so content and are so beautiful. It's hard to believe that little Mr.? is now MSG. His love of those cats is sweet.

I know — it’s crazy to me that he is in junior high (and that his older brother is looking at colleges!).
