Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Science Edition

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends, and check out the intense look of concentration on Bad Kitty Lucy’s little face on our very first installment of… ScientifiCaturday! So, let’s shed some light on this subject. 😉

What do we have going on in these photos? Well, Mr. 10 just received a new (belated & backordered) Snap Circuits set for Chanukah, so has spent the last couple of days happily building and science-ing away.

Note: If you have kids that are into LEGO, science, or building kits, I highly recommend these sets — they are so cool. We’ve had the regular kit for years, which has been passed down from High School Guy to Mr. 10, but now he’s working through his nifty new Snap Circuits 3D Illumination kit. Just like LEGOs, after they work through the projects in the book they can then use the pieces to make their own things (and sneakily learn things in the process!) — and the sets do connect to one another so that they can build something bigger and new.

To be honest, maybe the bad kitties are slightly more interested in fighting over the box that the Snap Circuits came in (and trying to bat the smaller pieces off the table) than in the actual science, but it just goes to show that there is something here for everyone.

Meanwhile, here’s Bad Kitten Gnocchi demonstrating how the camera really can add ten pounds if you pick a bad angle for your selfie…

See? Look how her face and chin slim out in this one: It’s all in the angles, folks! (I’m sure that there is some kind of science behind that, as well…)

Maybe BKL will absorb some of the science here through sheer osmosis, as she’s claimed the Snap Circuits box for her very own… but really, all cats need science-wise is their instinctive understanding of physics in attacking their prey, making their leaps, and batting things off of tall objects just so, right?

So, how’s your Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?

That’s about it for this week’s Caturday, as we humans in this household need to continue on with our less cat-filled normal Saturday errands, homework, and other stuff-that-has-to-get-done. How’s your own Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?

If I find that angle, Mandy, you'll be the first to know! After I snap about 600 selfies ;). And thanks, guys!

Could you find me a camera angle that will knock off 80 lbs.? PLEASE! I'm still loving the cat and kid antics. I think your kitties are ruining the reputations of cats as arrogant, antisocial, and hysterical.
