Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and friends: Back-to-school edition. This week it’s all about the impact of going back to school on our feline companions, who are now getting somewhat less attention than they’ve become accustomed to over the past few months. (And definitely less attention than they feel they are entitled to…!)
Because as much as they might try, you really shouldn’t pack up a cat and smuggle her into a dorm room…
Nor should you tuck cats into your backpack and smuggle them into your classroom… although wouldn’t they fit just purrfectly? 😉
Poor Jeremy is taking it the hardest, though; while the other two have each other, High School Guy is his boy. Jeremy can’t figure where his boy has gone, so keeps wandering into his room and yowling.
The Notorious BKL, on the other hand, is choosing to eat her feelings. I foolishly left this pack of corn out unattended on the counter — so much for our planned side dish tonight!
Gnocchi, meanwhile, just demands her fair share of attention in her cute little kitten way. She’s lucky she’s cute, too, because she’s following very closely in the footsteps of her mentor BKL! Wires are for chewing, screens are for climbing, furniture is for scratching, LEGOs are for batting under the refrigerator, and people food is for stealing.
How’s YOUR back-to-school season going — who else has started already?

Lord! Yes. Cats do miss people just as humans do. It is such a sad thing to see them howl. BKL looks miserable among all the packing going on. Thanks for sharing the kitty pics and updates. Look forward to it.

We're going down state for a view of the total eclipse, and our cats have been sitting on our suitcases to keep us from packing. We'll only be gone one night, but that's hard to explain to a cat.

Well, you can't ever complain that you are lonely. BKL looks forlorn sitting among the packed items. I'm pretty sure she knows a big change is coming. Poor Jeremy will just have to learn to appreciate how lucky he is that you all are staying home.
