All cats are coworkers: Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends, all cats are coworkers edition! Whether I’m typing, writing, or photographing: The bad kitties are there.

Welcome back! It’s been over a month since we’ve touched base with our house full of bad kitties, so let’s spend another Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: STILL my coworkers edition.

Remember back at the beginning of the pandemic lockdowns (so long ago), there was a little trend of people referring to their pets as “coworkers?” Well, Bad Kitty Lucy has helped to continue this tradition in style… and in her ever so helpful way.

Cats are my coworkers

Whether I’m trying to type on my keyboard or write in my paper planner, The Notorious BKL likes to insert herself into every situation. (Seriously. You can see I didn’t even have a chance to get started on this page before she plopped herself down.)

Or, let’s say I sit down for a moment while taking some recipe photos to try to get a different angle. This is a good time and place to relax, don’t you think?

All cats are coworkers

Lest you think this activity is limited to BKL, however: All cats, everywhere, are coworkers. Let’s say, for instance, that the cats are fighting, so you close the door to try and work in peace for a few minutes. Suddenly all is forgiven, as they unite in a concerted effort to get into the room. Fear not, though — the scratches you can see on the door are not from the bad kitties, but from the dogs that belonged to the previous owner of this house.

And really, I do mean all cats! Remember I told you about the new coffee bar we built a few weeks ago? Well, Jiji here was careful to oversee that entire project — as well as every other.

Companionship and curiosity

Maybe it’s less about coworking than about the constant need to be involved in the action, or a curiosity about what the strange humans in the household are doing next.

I mean, the least she could do is help unload the dishwasher or slice that pizza, but alas, no such luck.

I don’t feel slighted, though. She didn’t help the plumber when this pipe went a couple of weeks ago, either, although she was very careful to inspect his work afterwards.

How’s your Caturday going?

That’s about us for this week: The pipe has been fixed, the pizza long since consumed, and BKL is snoozing in a sunbeam with Jeremy.

How’s your Caturday (or cat free week) progressing? If you want a little cat experience of your own, be sure to check out Purrli: The Internet has a cat — where you can enjoy a customized cat purr, right from the comfort of your own device.

And as always, be sure to tune in next time for the latest in the exciting ongoing Caturday adventures of the Notorious BKL and Friends.

I hope you appreciate the semi-occasional detours from recipes and ALDI into the adventures of our three bad kitties over here. They’re just so darn shareable, and sometimes (gasp) there’s more to life than food!
