Savers shopping — little boy not included

photo.JPG

So, went thrift store shopping with Mr. 5 and my visiting mom today (guess where I got that thrift store gene?! lol). Here’s what I picked up at Savers… boy not included, but he had to model his new SHERIFF HAT. They had a big sign up that Mondays are 25% off apparel and housewares, so…

One SHERIFF HAT, $.74. (Was $.99, but I guess it counted as apparel…)
Dalmation backpack — nice condition but needs washing — $2.99.
PJ pants for Mr. 9, $1.12.
Brown pants for Mr. 9, $2.24.
Button-down shirt for Mr. 9, $2.99. (And now he’s set for his upcoming recital — phew…)
Basket, $2.24.
Dictionary, $1.49.

Paid $14.95. Good shopping day at Savers!

I really enjoyed this post, because I had just been thrift shopping at Unique that morning! Unique stores (in Chicago) sell everything at 50% off on Mondays. I usually have great luck for my kids there, although I usually find the amount of adult clothing too overwhelming to go through. I'm proud, so I hope it's okay that I share my haul! Everything I bought was in good shape, some like new; my total was $24.28 + tax.

(2) pairs Carter's fleece boy's pajamas (3) ls Carter's fleece girl's nightgowns (1) ls Carter's girl's nightgown Justice ls girl's tshirt (seems brand new) (5) ss girl's tshirts (Children's Place, Oshkosh, Gymboree) Chilren's Place girl's skort NFL Team Apparel, women's embellished Bears tshirt

I agree with Matt, their prices are high, but tradition has it that most patriotic type holidays they have a sale where pretty much everything is 50% off. This has happened on Presidents Day, Veterans Day, etc. That is the only time I shop there.

They have nice stuff and their stores are very clean. I wish the prices were cheaper though.
