More produce in the New Year, anyone?
On the “almost” all ALDI note, because sometimes you just want a larger selection: If you’re planning on changing your eating patterns in the New Year, and would like to supplement the produce you pick up at your local ALDI, this may be a good time to revisit my Imperfect Produce review from this past fall.
- You can get 50% off your first box with coupon code mashup, too!

ALDI meal planning week of 1/20/19 – 1/26/19
I’m assuming that you already have pantry basics like cooking oil, common condiments, and spices. 🙂 *** Read through the recipes before you shop, to make sure you have the necessary pantry staples on hand for this week’s ALDI menu plan.
Six Easy Dinners from ALDI for $60.00
ALDI meal plan — Start cooking 1/20/19
- Sunday: Sheet pan smoky Parmesan chicken tenders + veggies plus Parmesan rice pilaf (substitute shredded Parmesan for grated).
- Monday: Citrus-lime spring mix salad with chicken, red grapes.
- Tuesday: Chipotle quesadillas with pan-roasted veggies + black beans, served with cheesy zucchini rice.
- Wednesday: Almond Parmesan crusted low carb flounder with garlicky spinach — substitute flounder for cod, but reduce cooking time and check for doneness at 10 minutes, because they are thinner fillets. Serve with spring mix salad topped with sliced strawberries.
- Thursday: Ground turkey stir fry with cauliflower rice (use all 19.2 oz of the turkey), mandarins.
- Friday: Sheet pan citrus soy chicken drumsticks & cauliflower served with cooked white rice, plus spring mix salad topped with Parmesan, sliced almonds, your last chopped bell pepper, & chop up any carrots you have left.
- Saturday: Leftovers, family pizza night (ALDI sells a nice big take-and-bake pizza), eat out, or date night.

Things to know about the ALDI meal plans
A couple of notes
- I try not to repeat main dish recipes more often than once a month, but you will see favorite easy recipes come up again in these weekly ALDI meal plans as the same meats and produce items come up again on sale. Part of the fun of meal planning lies in mixing old stand-bys with something new each week.
- If one or more of these recipes isn’t to your taste, or if you have other ingredients to use, you can adapt the recipes in this ALDI meal plan to your family’s preferences — or just use the ideas here to supplement your own meal planning. See: Pantry staples to stock up on and how to modify a meal plan for your family.
** Ad markets and dates
This week’s ALDI meal plan reflects prices from the current week’s ad (running 1/13-1/19 in Sunday ad markets, and 1/16-1/22 in Wednesday ad markets). Non-advertised prices were collected on 1/16/19 at my local store in the Chicago suburbs, but non-advertised prices and produce deals *may vary* by location & region. In either ad market, shop any time through Saturday and start cooking on Sunday 1/20/19.

How many people do your meal plans feed?

Four. But there are often leftovers -- if you look at individual recipes they will generally list how many servings. Often people use leftovers for lunch.

You can often easily convert the slow cooker recipes to IP, if you prefer -- people often comment about doing so in our Facebook group. :)

Rachel, I have always loved Aldi. However, I was stuck in a college mentality. For some reason I thought to eat affordable we had to stick to sandwiches, mac&cheese, hot dogs and frozen pizzas. You know the college diet. BUT our health was greatly paying for it! I knew something NEEDED to change. How though?! We were beginning the process of building a home and just welcomed our first baby to the family. I searched pinterest and found your blog! PRAISE THE LORD!! I alter your plans a tiny bit from week to week and there is just the two of us so meals last longer. My husband is allergic to fish so i swap those meals out for chicken. BUT by eating real food and planning it out we have cut our food budget IN HALF!! We are eating better, real food and saving money! We absolutely love it! The sales do not always match up as we are in Tennessee, but your meal plans have been an absolute life saver! My husband has even tried new food and LIKED it!! (Seriously, you deserve a reward!) Thank you so very much!! ---Tennessee follower
