Happy St. Patrick’s Caturday, from Mr. 11 and the Notorious BKL! From this photo alone, can you guess which one of them is getting more into the spirit of the day…? Me, I’m actually one quarter Irish, but always forget to plan anything green for our day.
(Yes, I’m actually wearing blue today — no one pinch me, please.)
Speaking of Mr. 11 and things that are green… or, I guess, aqua… if your kid has also been bugging for a “Fitbit” but doesn’t have a phone to hook it to and is as hard on their things as he is, check out the $4.99 fitness watch this week at ALDI. They don’t have kid sizes, but I picked him up a women’s one and the strap just fits him on the smallest hole. (Yes, it rattles, and yes, he’ll probably destroy it — but I’d rather he destroy a $4.99 model, probably around the time he gets bored with it!) This thing does steps, distance, time, and calories burned.
This is a “special buy,” but once ALDI is out, apparently you can find similar ones at Five Below if you’re looking for a fun Easter basket idea, etc.
Now, if Mr. 11 doesn’t destroy the fitness tracker, the cats probably will at some point — they’re pretty sure that it’s some new and interesting form of cat toy for them to chew on. (Look at Jeremy here, trying to play all innocent like he wasn’t just going after the watch Mr. 11 left on the table.)
Meanwhile, Bad Kitty Lucy is just about as thrilled to be playing a “cowboy cat” as she was about today’s St. Patrick’s Day extravaganza. She’s not always the most willing of victims in Mr. 11’s various escapades, but she’s a pretty good sport overall. For a cat, that is.
After Mr. 11 wears them out, BKL and her sidekick Bad Kitty Gnocchi go back to their regularly-scheduled program of extended napping, broken up by short bouts of mayhem, snuggling, and amusement.
So, how’s your Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?
That’s about it for this week’s Caturday, so I will bid you a fond farewell from Gnocchi and pals. Tune in next week for a new episode of the exciting adventures of the Notorious BKL and Friends, and yes: She knows exactly how pretty she is!
How’s your own Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?
