ALDI meal planning week of 3/18/18 – 3/24/18
I’m assuming here that you already have pantry basics like cooking oil, condiments, and spices. 🙂 *** Read through the recipes before you shop to make sure you have the necessary pantry staples on hand.
Six Easy Dinners from ALDI for $60.00
ALDI meal plan — Start cooking 3/18/18
- Sunday: Simple roast chicken & vegetables (use red potatoes & cut them larger than the russets shown; shred two cups of the leftover cooked chicken for tomorrow’s recipe), plus a side salad topped with tomatoes (reserve two for Friday) and some mild pepper rings.
- Monday: BBQ chicken naan pizza (substitute yellow onion for red, and mix leftover chicken from Sunday w/ BBQ sauce to taste), with strawberries.
- Tuesday: Turkey taco stuffed sweet potatoes (top with cilantro) and some butter & garlic green beans (halve recipe; reserve the other half of the bag of green beans for Thurs).
- Wednesday: Easy Italian wedding soup with turkey meatballs, Italian bread. Note: La Moderna pasta may be regional — it’s in the Hispanic foods section of my store. If your store doesn’t carry, substitute any small pasta.
- Thursday: Balsamic BBQ turkey meatloaf dinner (substitute red for gold potatoes).
- Friday: Asparagus & tomato baked frittata and use the last of your red potatoes for roasted red potato wedges (substitute 1-2 tsp dried rosemary for the fresh, to taste). For dessert, cut up strawberries and shake up the rest of the heavy cream into whipped cream.
- Saturday: Leftovers, family pizza night (ALDI sells a nice big take-and-bake pizza), eat out, or date night.

Let me know if you give it a try!
*** Download this week’s shopping list in Word format so that you can edit and add in your own meal ideas, remove items you already have on hand, change regional pricing to match your own store, etc. *** The day(s) next to each item show which meals use each ingredient, so that you can easily see what to delete from the shopping list if you’re skipping a night.
Things to know about the ALDI meal plans
A couple of notes
- I try not to repeat main dish recipes more often than once a month, but you will see favorite easy recipes come up again in these weekly ALDI meal plans as the same meats and produce items come up again on sale. Part of the fun of meal planning lies in mixing old stand-bys with something new each week.
- If one or more of these recipes isn’t to your taste, or if you have other ingredients to use, you can adapt the recipes in this ALDI meal plan to your family’s preferences — or just use the ideas here to supplement your own meal planning. See: Pantry staples to stock up on and how to modify a meal plan for your family.
** Ad markets and dates
This week’s ALDI meal plan reflects prices from the current week’s ad (running 3/11-3/17 in Sunday ad markets, and 3/14-3/20 in Wednesday ad markets). Non-advertised prices were collected on 3/14/18 at my local store in the Chicago suburbs, but non-advertised prices and produce deals *may vary* by location & region. In either ad market, shop any time through Saturday and start cooking on Sunday 3/18/18.

Have I told you lately how much I appreciate this weekly resource? I loathe meal planning and always over buy at the grocery store. This is the perfect solution. Your recipes are a hit 99% of the time (discovered my family does NOT like poblano peppers) and always affordable. I love the variety you help us bring and the money and time you help save! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I am so happy I stumbled upon your site! We are trying to pay off the last of our debt in the next 4 months. We've trimmed the fat, as they say, but I've realized even that's not enough right now. It is such a blessing to have your meal plan delivered right to me every week. I'm reducing spending and stress :-)
