Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends! Do you see this expression? This is the expression of a foolish cat who lost a fight with the hinges on the back of a door. The Notorious Bad Kitty Lucy has a notorious bad kitty habit of either trying to run out of the door into the garage, or hiding behind the door trying to peek through the hinges when it opens. Earlier today that habit caught up with her… and let me just tell you that you never want to hear the sound coming out of a cat whose paw is caught in the back of a door as it closes.
The poor thing seems to be all right — she’s been running around and putting weight on it — but slightly shaken by the whole experience. (As are we all!)
Otherwise BKL has been hanging out with MashupDad quite a bit now that the weather’s turned colder. I’m not sure if it’s him she likes so much as his cozy sweatshirt, but either way they make quite the comfortable pair…
Not a fair fight…
Meanwhile, Bad Kitten Gnocchi continues to pick fights with poor old Jeremy, seen here sporting his perpetually disgruntled expression. He does smack her down pretty well, but she’s a persistent little thing.
And when she gets him riled up enough, he’ll actually forget his dignity and start playing.
Soooooo big!
Traumatized by all of the fighting, Jeremy is now just practicing becoming one with the cushion.
From the fauna to the flora
Meanwhile, today we pulled in the catnip we grew this summer and are attempting to dry it. This is a new venture, so we’ll see how it goes!
And, speaking of our current local fauna, this is the sort of thing that happens on the rare occasion MashupDad comes along on an ALDI outing. That’s a “special buy,” all right!
It’s kind of hard to see in the photo, but above he fed one of those ubiquitous brown stinkbugs to his new Venus flytrap. (Her name is, of course, Audrey.)
How’s your own Caturweek (or Cat-Free week) going?
That’s about it for this week’s Caturday, so let me know how your week was!

I guess Miss BKL is showing why people say cats have nine lives. Ouch! Glad she's still running around and has a nice Dad to cuddle up too. I think BKG must know that Jeremy can be provoked to play, so, she's going to keep challenging him. I really enjoy the updates and pictures. My husband even enjoys them when I drag him over to the computer to see the pictures.
