DC here he comes — What are your spring break plans?
So I might be a little jealous that Junior High Guy just headed off to DC on a class trip… but not necessarily of the sleeping overnight on the bus part. 😉 What kind of spring break plans do you have / will you have at your house?
I spent last week in San Antonio, traveled by train. Had a blast, maybe my favorite thing was I spent an entire day walking around the King William historic district looking at all of the mansions.
I went on an excursion to the Texas Hill Country and visited the Nimitz Museum & the National Museum of the Pacific War I which was fantastic! I also visited LBJ's ranch (donated to the park service upon Ladybird's death a few years ago) which was really interesting. It's been restored to what it looked like in 1972.
Definitely would recommend a visit to San Antonio, particularly for history buffs!

Lucky Duck! Not much here, but a friend entered a contest and won tickets for her kids to do an egg hunt on the White House lawn! How great is that? We wanted to go Brookfield Zoo, but the weather is not cooperating at all.

Boy, that sure brings back memories of my kids! My two went there on their 8th grade class trip many years ago! They had a blast! I'm glad I didn't go with the schedule they kept. They only went for about 5 days. They had a nice picture taken of the whole class on the steps of the Capitol building. It will be something he'll never forget!
