Today the boys and I found ourselves near Caputo’s so stopped in for the $1.49/lb cherries. They looked awful 🙁 so I’ll try again at Pete’s another time — but then they convinced me to stop at the Goodwill in the same strip mall.
The DS case and skate gloves for Mr. 8 were each $.99 — my new shoes, however? Those were a bit more… We also came home with a few new books, including a well-worth-the-$.89 Eyewitness Castle for Mr. 8 as a follow-up to our Medieval Times visit! (It still had the fold-up poster in it and everything, and he’s quite pleased with his haul today.)

Went to St. Vincent DePaul. and found my baby a pair of brand new sandals (with tag) from the Children"s Place for .69 cents.

Last Friday our delivery route never went near a Goodwill, instead we went to the Community Thrift Store in Waukegan/Gurnee. It was the day before their 50% off sale and they were in the process of crossing out the current price and doubling it! They didn't even bother making new tags or stickers. It was ridiculous to see cheap furniture marked 19.92 crossed out and see 39.92 over it! Such a scam. I have never really cared for them but that was the last straw. Goodwill only from now on!

Just remember this Saturday the Goodwills in the Michiana district (Crown Point, Lansing, St. John, etc. ) have half off day :D.
